Activities to do at home!

Whilst this pandemic is happening you may have heard the words ‘I’m bored’ on a daily basis either from your kids, partner, brother, sister or even from your own thoughts. It can be hard to figure out what you want to do. This blog will hopefully give you some inspiration on how to solve this problem.

Having a costume night can be a fun way to get everyone motivated. Set a theme for the night this can be planned around your own interests. At the end of the night you can then vote who had the best costume and the winner gets a prize. Maybe having a specific night each week on which you can do this, giving yourself and your family something to look forward to.

This is one for the kids, or even adults if you want to go back in time. Have an Indoor/Outdoor Scavenger Hunt. Create clues for them to find, not only is this fun it also gets their brains working as they have to think about where the next clue is. Make sure you have a prize at the end of the hunt. You could possibly do a couple each week in different rooms.

Board games are an excellent way to have fun at home. There are so many options to choose from. The great thing about board games is that you are able to interact with everyone while playing. You could possibly create your own Coming up with the game and the rules you want to make is also a good way to spend time with one another.  Let the games begin!

Host a quiz night, you can even use facetime for this so you can include your friends. Suggest that everyone comes up with 25 questions each and dedicate one certain night for this. Not only does this get your brain thinking , you can learn new facts and also keeps you in contact with your friends and family.

The last activity you could do is create an assault course. Not only is this fun but can also give you exercise (if you make it challenging enough). They encourage thinking andproblem solving. Also most of the obstacle courses require lots of physical movement it makes it more fun as you don’t realise you are doing much exercise. You can use household objects for this such as a chair, table or even little things like an egg in a spoon or a hula hoop. You can make your own rules and can even add a time limit, whoever finishes it the quickest wins a prize. Give it a try!

Hope you have fun trying these activities out!
