100 Calorie Snacks

If you get hungry between meals then try these snacks instead of reaching for unhealthier versions such as crisps or biscuits.

Cheese and Tomato Toastie

Ingredients:

  • 1 wholegrain crisp bread
  • 15g of 30% less-fat mature cheese
  • 40g of tomato
  • Mixed herbs

Method: Simply chop up your tomato and place it on the crispbread. Cover with the grated cheese and mixed herbs, then place under the grill for a couple of minutes.

Apple and Peanut Butter Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 sliced apple
  • 12g of peanut butter

Method: Grab a slice of apple and spread some peanut butter on, then place another slice of apple on top. There you have a healthy peanut butter sandwich.

Baked Beans on Toast

Ingredients:

  • 60g of baked beans
  • 22g slice of wholemeal or wholegrain bread

Method: Warm your beans up in the microwave and pop your bread in the toaster. Serve with a sprinkle of mixed herbs.

Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Parcels

Ingredients:

  • 48g of smoked salmon, cut into 4 strips
  • 20g of reduced-fat cream cheese
  • A squeeze of lemon juice

Method: Place the four strips of salmon on an even surface, spread 5g of the cream cheese on each strip. Squeeze some lemon juice on and roll the strips up into little parcels.

Homemade Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • 20g of popping corn
  • 3g of vegetable oil
  • Sprinkle of chilli powder

Method: Place your corn in a pan with a drizzle of oil, wait till it has all popped and sprinkle the chilli powder over.
